Our team
Jennifer,
Therapeutic Consultant
Jennifer is a Therapeutic Consultant with Feeling & Healing Therapeutic Services, bringing experience across children's residential care, NHS mental health services and private counselling practice.
Jennifer began her career working therapeutically with children and young people in residential care. It was through this work that she developed a strong interest in understanding how early experiences, relationships and trauma can shape a young person's emotional wellbeing, behaviour and capacity to feel safe within relationships.
She later trained at University College London (UCL) and the Anna Freud Centre as a Children's Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, alongside working within CAMHS as a trainee CYP practitioner. This provided Jennifer with a strong foundation in supporting children, young people and families experiencing difficulties including anxiety, low mood and emotional distress.
Jennifer subsequently moved into adult mental health services, working within NHS Manchester Talking Therapies as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, where she delivered low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions.
Alongside her NHS work, Jennifer completed her counselling training and is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). She also has experience in private counselling practice, supporting adults with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem and relationship concerns.
Jennifer brings to Feeling & Healing a broad understanding of emotional wellbeing across different ages, services and therapeutic settings. Her experience across residential care, CAMHS, NHS Talking Therapies and counselling enables her to consider both the individual needs of children and young people and the wider relationships and systems surrounding them.
Jennifer is particularly passionate about the role of relationships in promoting healing and emotional wellbeing and values the principles of PACE: Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy, as a way of strengthening trust, connection and felt safety.
Jennifer's approach is compassionate, curious and collaborative, grounded in the belief that understanding a person's experiences and the meaning behind their behaviour is an important part of supporting meaningful and lasting change.
Our approach
How we think about children, teams and change.
Understanding how children's previous experiences may influence their present-day feelings, relationships and responses.
Recognising the importance of safe, consistent and emotionally available relationships.
Using Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy to support connection and understanding.
Therapeutic change often happens through everyday relationships and experiences — not only within formal therapy.
Helping adults remain curious about both the child's experience and their own responses.
We don't ask simply, "What's wrong with this behaviour?" We help teams become curious about, "What might this behaviour be communicating?"
Let's talk about therapeutic support for your home.
A warm, no-obligation conversation about the children you care for, your team and what therapeutic partnership could look like.
